1) Brewery:-

          Beer is the main product of Brewery industries. Main Parts of Brewery are:-

  • Malt Handling Systems
  • Mash-Kettle
  • Lautur Tun

  • Bright Beer Tanks
  • Bottling

          In Malt Handling system, Malt is crushed into small particals.Crushed malt is mixed with water & rice in Mash-kettle & heated upto 76 °C in five steps. When temperature of mixture reached at 76 °C, it transfers into Lautur Tun.From Lautur Tun wort gets extracted by addition of water & remaining spent grain thrown into bin. Extracted wort from Lautur tun, heated upto 98-102 °C.During heating hops & sugar added to wort for taste & clarity purpose. Heated wort mixture transfer into Whirlpool. From Whirlpool it transfer into Unitank at 11°C.Cooling medium used for wort cooling is Glycol. In Unitank Wort gets fermented in which its temperature raised upto 16 °C & then cooling in which its temperature cooled down upto -1.5°C. Here also cooling medium is Glycol. After beer temperature reached upto -1.5°C, it transfers to Prebuffer tank. After pre-buffer tank beer filtered through filtrations unit & transfer to Post Buffer Tank. From Post buffer tank it transfers to Bright Beer Tanks where its temperature maintains at -1.5°C.The Beer in bright beer tank is ready for bottling& disputing.

 

2) Waste water treatment(Nanofilteration Unit):-

          There are 10 sub processes in the complete nanofilteration systems which are:-

  • NF feed water & Blending system
  • Preconditioning of feed water
  • PE make up
  • HCL storage system
  • Sand-Filtrations system
  • Cartridge system
  • Conditioning of feed water prior to membrane
  • NF membrane system
  • Outfall
  • Feed of NF-softened water to MSF Unit.

          In NF feed water & Blending system Hot & Cold water mixed with predefined temperature set point whose PH is under observation. In preconditioning feed water gets treated by HCL, ferric chloride & Polyelectrolyte for coagulation &PH control. The liquid polymer is diluted into polymer preparation unit & basic solution is mixed with diluted polymer. In sandfilteration unit actual filtrations of feed water takes place by different number of filters. The Cartridge Filter receives pre-treated water from sand-filter. At start up the water has go through outfall until SDI value lower than 4.After that filtered water can send through cartridge filter. Before feeding to membrane conditioning of water takes place by dosing of Bio-cide, Sodium Bisulphate. In NF membrane softened water which passes through the membrane & concentrate which did not pass through the membrane. Concentrate is discharged through outfall. Softened water through NF membrane goes to MSF unit which is ready for dispatch & use.

 

3) Boiler System:-

          Boiler systems are designed for generation of steam, hot water which is used in process for different purpose. Boiler system is very important & critical process in Automation system which includes following sections:-

  • Water supply pumping station
  • Water storage Drum/Tank
  • Burner/Furnace for generation of heat
  • Steam storage drum
  • Super heater
  • Inlet Draft fan & outlet draft fan
  • Attempreator
  • Fuel supply system
  • Condensate tank

          Also from automation control point of view system includes following control:-

    • Water drum/Tank level control
    • Water supply pumping station control
    • Furnace firing system
    • Furnace trip & stop sequence control
    • ID & FD fan speed & position control
    • Steam drum level control
    • Air & Fuel ration control
    • Super heater & Attempreator temperature control
    • Steam pressure & temperature control
    • Condensate tank level control

          All these critical controls are achived by digital logic& control loops through PLC system.

4) Material Handling System:-


          Main purpose of material handling systems installed in plant is for the movement, storage, retrieval, control and protection of materials and products (e.g. Coal, Ash, Grains, Metal Assemblies & Part, Glass etc.) throughout their manufacture, distribution, consumption and disposal. Main role of Automation system in Material handling is to get the right amount of the right material to the right place at the right time in the right sequence in the right position in the right condition for the right cost in a safe manner.
          This can be achieved by proper mechanical design of conveying system as well as using perfect Automation Software. Such software can be developed by using PLCs, Dedicated controllers etc.
